Reduce The Odds

Posted by Freddy Wills on September 28th, 2009 - 09:43:06AM.

A good sports betting tip is to always keep up with sports news and read
what all the experts have to say. The bookmakers usually have a good
understanding of what is going on in the sports world, but they can't
cover everything. Find a gap between what the experts are saying and the
odds offered by the bookies. It's a gamble in the end, but try to reduce
the odds to favor yourself. This goes for all gambling, betting and casino
games, from online bingo games to blackjack.

NFL Betting Tips- Top 4 Ways To Be Successful

Posted by Freddy Wills on August 18th, 2009 - 03:30:00PM.

Betting on the NFL has become one of the most popular sports to be on in America. Actually sports betting in America has risen to a multi billion dollar industry, because whether you want to admit it or not live sports odds are everywhere from the newspaper, television, and internet. Now why is NFL the most popular sport I think it has something to do with 1 game a week that makes every single Sunday the most exciting day of the week.

For that fact it is much easier to follow a team that plays once a week than once a day. The public is actually very knowledgeable about NFL football. That is why NFL is the hardest sport to handicap as the lines are extremely sharp.

Money Management

I have said this many times and had to learn it the hard way for myself! Money management is the key to making money and is just as important as how much you know about sports. The key is finding an approach that fits your goals as a sports bettor. Managing your bankroll will absolutely determine how you play and how much you play as well as how long and how much profit you will earn. In the end whatever we suggest is entirely up to you.

There are two thoughts or theories on proper money management. Many in the industry refer to a flat betting theory. Flat betting is essentially betting the same exact amount regardless of who is playing. The other theory involves a scale which we truly believe in here at Sports Bet Capping. Our scale is a 1-5 unit scale where we release the majority of our plays around 3-4 units and 5 unit releases are considered the cream of the crop, game of the month or year. The reason we believe in the scaling is that our handicappers have been very successful in ranking their plays. For myself I always hit close to or over 60% on my play of the days which generally are 4-unit releases.

Baseball Run Lines Tip

Posted by Freddy Wills on June 11th, 2009 - 10:33:20PM.

by Freddy Wills

How do you know when and when not to bet on the run line? Betting on the run line can be extremely rewarding if you do it the right way. The majority of the games are decided by more than 1 game so I personally never ever play the dog on the run line. I also usually play the run line as a bonus play of a money line play. Unless the juice is so outrageous on the money line of course. I'm going to give you a quick run down of the strategies and statistics that must be met before I consider a run line a play.

There are several factors that must be in play if the match up does not meet these I will usually not play the run line.

Play only where the two teams playing have been involved in games decided by more than 1 run 70%+ of the time!
Play on a team who has a 72.5%+ margin of winning games by more than one run @ home or away depending on the situation.
Example say I want to bet on the Yankees at home vs. the Red Sox. In order for this game to be a play the run line the match up has to meet both conditions set above.

#1 Yankees & Red Sox must play in games that are decided by more than 1 run 70% or more of the time.
#2 Yankees are the home team so they must be winning games by more than 1 run 72.5%+ of the time at home.
#3 Red Sox are the road team they must be losing games by more than 1 run 72.5%+ of the time.

If those conditions are meant then you can play the run line on the Yankees. Now note you actually have to have a good feeling that the Yankees will win of course. Like I said earlier I like to play this angle when I'm betting on the money line and I use the run line as a bonus, because it usually is at +juice and we get a lot of value out of that.

MLB Tips- 1st 5 innings betting

When you are going to bet on the 5 Inning Lines. It is very important to specify the listed pitchers for your bet to count. If you leave that blank then you are putting yourself at risk if there is a rain delay or if a pitcher is scratched. This is usually available just before submitting your pick on your sports book.

It is recommended that you do your research on the following criteria:
Starting Pitchers stats vs. opponent.
Starting Pitchers Home/Away & Day/Night
Lineups vs. LHP or RHP Last 5/10
Starting Pitchers Last 5/10

What may look clear as day to you may not be at all. You must weigh other factors other than statistics such as travel time. If Johan Santana is going all the way out to SF to pitch he may not have much of an advantage against a decent pitcher. Never mind the advantage you also will not get much value with high priced lines. Not to mention the offensive bats of a traveling team usually do not wake up right away.
